Libra.
The fluidity of emotion. It's probably one of the most intriguing things about the human mind. So many things to think about, so many things to hear, so many things to say. If only our thoughts could be heared by everyone else. Wouldn't the universe be a more interesting place? Denial, prejudice, misjudgement - all things which occur as a result of the clandestine nature of the human brain. All of them will cease to exist, at least, not as they are now. How many friends will be lost, how many strangers will become family, how many secrets will become truths - or lies?
But then. If the universe were to become such a place. There would be nothing left to hide. Nothing left to argue about, nothing left to feel secretly insecure with. And nothing left to buffer the sharpness of the acid tongue. The universe would then be a very shallow place to live in. Once an ocean pours out, what's left is a dry seabed; uncovered, yet, so dry, so subtance-less.
Maybe, the ocean should stay.

Folie/Vie.
Today is one of the most -cannot find suitable adjective-est days in my life. Ever.
First. Going to school today was an utter waste of time. Subrina wasn't even there, so my many queries for the YOLO poster assignment are still left unanswered. There's more work to do now, thanks for saving me my assignments, friends. I don't think I can complete that Typography assignment by tonight though. Drats.
I had to leave early and meet up with (what I felt like was) my doom, so I ciaoed Colour Studies a bit earlier (and that talk as well, I wonder how it went). Putri was there with me, so I felt better (okay, I admit it).
Now, all I want to say is that never again will I contemplate anything to do with the big 'D', ever. I don't even want to type it out, it's that bad. Okay, back to more pressing matters. When the nurse called me in again, I swear, my mind was practically - blank. For the first time in my life, my nerves got the better of me. What had to be said was said, and I left the room - and greeted Tri with a smile.
It's nothing to laugh at, nothing, at all. Now, to those close to me (about 2 of you?), you'd probably feel better after reading this. And I assure you, I do too. I am going to be fine, cow. Love you to bits.
And now, back to life.
p.s. Time to get a little philosophical now. In this world, there always are people facing far greater difficulties than the ones that we are facing now. Learn to be more accepting of life and embrace what it has offered to us (or not). Because, one way or another, problems are there to make us stronger. Thanks dad for that nihilistically cool (in a way) phrase. There are worse things in life. Like those 'dastardly nasty' assignments. Right?

Ox.
The past two nights have been a blast.
Yesterday I spent the whole night out with Samputri (it's their couple name, think 'Brangelina'...) and the kiddo's at the Marina Barrage. It was great fun, having the kids along with us; one, it prevents Sam from going all 'Theres this place I know where there's great musi-', and two, they really bring out the 'true' kids within ourselves. Think 'water playground' and wet underwear.
Hehe. I think i've made my cold worse.
Today, the first year of the mighty mighty Ox, and guess what, I ended up awaking exactly at noon. Dad called in shortly after my 13th or so snooze alarm and told me he'd rather me come next week, as it was no use having me at Uncle Robert's for awhile when they all (Sobo & household) are going off visiting somewhere else. And oh yeah, dad kept complaining about a bad stomach ache he got after yesternight's feast, so i bet he too wasn't feeling that great. The amusement, I know. Wished the East Asian side of my family the usual greetings, no doubt. E-orange.
So, in the end, there wasn't exactly much to do (I am not counting assignments obviously). But then, at around 3, aunt Oya called (yeah I have a lot of aunts) from the beach, inviting me to 'join the super family picnic at Pasir Ris'. Haha. I practically laughed out loud when I got there; everyone, even mum, was there, and they all even said (thanks to some cow) a very loud and embarrassing 'KONGSIFAHCHAI!', before I melted away in the sand.
I love my family. They only look different and act classy but in fact, deep down, they're a true blue, Meh-lah-yoo sort of people. Is that a haiku, or what.
Haha, back to reality. I don't think I can face that huge metaphoric pile of work (that I have yet to get started on) back at home. Oh. No.
Whoops, there goes gravity.
Happy New Year everyone.

Shades of gray.
Maybe it's because i've let God down. Or maybe it's because I was Hannibal Lecter in my past life. Sighs. Just ignore my Bruce Almighty-esque musings.
I've gotten quite productive the past two days during which I was absent from school. There was nothing better to do anyway - I didn't want to hang out at Aunt Sophia's or Nyai's because I didn't want anyone there to catch my virus, and even so, I was too weak to move about that much. Breathing has been an absolute pain as well. It's been years since i've used the Ventolin inhaler, and Dr. Hong advised me against using it again, seeing that it's caused other complications in the past.
Today, I felt extra helpless (more than usual, yes). Well, the thing is, I was supposed to be picked up by Aunt Wani or Aunt Sophia in the morning (we were going for a picnic). But when Aunt Rita called me at around 11, and asked where I was, it seemed to me that they all had forgotten about me, completely. I can be a baby for all I want, but when someone invites you out for a day filled with sports and sun, and then shoves you aside the last minute, you can't help but feel a bit let down. Oh well. I was looking forward to seeing the kiddo's again, and resting the day away under a huge tree. Haha.
Instead, I spent the entire afternoon at the huge McDonalds outlet near my house, doing the Yolo project in peace. The sunset from Kallang basin was beautiful, as always.
Sighs. Dad called just now. He told me that I should spend a few days at home by myself, and that I need not come along for this year's New Year festivities. I wonder how I can magically send oranges by e-mail to Sobo and Grandpa. Hmm. That would be great.
I don't want to say anything, but I hope the results turn out just fine, when they come out. Whatever it is...
In God, I still believe.
p.s. pills mess with your mind worse than alcohol do, I swear..

Coo-ld.
I shouldn't have written that first sentence in my last post. Because I had to eat it.
This virus is really killing me. I don't know what is going on, but it ain't pretty.
I really cannot afford to miss school again, not even for one day. I truly apologize if anyone of my friends had caught the virus, but if you did, please go to a doctor and at least get some prescriptions before it gets worse.
Other than that, school has been tiringly fun. Staying back with Kai and Haz after school to do the Design History project is awesomely-idiotically fun (and also why I don't want to miss school this coming Friday). Okay, let's get to work. Now, the best way to tackle these assignments is to do so with a pinch of urgency and a complete satchetful of patience (?). It really is difficult to attain that level of discipline, especially in relation to completing assignments. I really respect those who are able to do so, and I really hope I will be able to do the same.
I just came back from drama by the way, it was wickedly funny, as usual. I hope I didn't pass anything on to Vicki and Hanisah; arm yourselves guys, with jugfuls of vitamin C (or ascorbic acid, something I learnt from taking F&N classes).
I really hope you feel okay, friend.
I also hope that I feel better by tomorrow morning. There's a swimming pool where i'm sitting at right now, if you know what I mean. I should stop typing now.
Get well soon, Singapore.

Sunny side up.
So, it is safe to say that nothing worst came out from the nasty bout of flu that I had just experienced. Heck yeah, I can taste food again. Sweet, sweet. Now, I still need a few more days to let my runny nose clear up though; it has been a total gorefest (I think i've entertained too many people with my 'I have a hard time keeping the mucus off my face when i'm in the bus' stories, right Haz?).
School has been, ok-go so-so (I know). Monday and Tuesday went by in a daze. Urgh, I swear, evening classes are just plain nasty. It's not because of the lecturers or anything (well, maybe it is), but if no one is going to keep me awake throughout classes like Ergonomics or I daresay Design History, I am gonna' create a swimming pool wherever I sit. And that is just plain sticky.
Monday was, hehh, Tuesday was, ngehh.
We had a fun time doing the D. History project yesterday evening though, thanks to slutty sirens and psycho mermaids (and foreign workers). And weird computer sounds.
Today, we had Studio Project in the morning and Colour Studies a.ka. 'the most useful module in the world' in the evening. I can gladly affirm that my idea for S.Proj. is finally coming through; I hate the fact that I was practically going nowhere with the idea before, but thank god for that stroke of brilliance just now; I finally know roughly what my poster will look like (woow).
We (well those like me) had to rush here and there to get the C.Stds. project done. In the end I didn't get to present, but at least its done. So, phew.
I met Ina on the bus looking shagged out just now. I bet Kai probably knows how she's like already (lol). I felt kind of bad that her English grade was still same old, though I know she'll want to keep on trying her best. Theres always time to improve, crazy friend.
Got home to some sleep hours ago. The new season of American Idol was great. It amazes me how some people just love making a fool out of themselves. I really respect them a lot, somewhat (i'll respect a donkey too, so, yeah). I think the new judge is cool, and hot (well I like older women). She probably is my first celebrity crush of the year. Haha, kudos to that.
Okay, as you can tell, i'm probably high on something right now (probably got it from Ina), so, i'll probably get myself some juice to quench my sanity. I just bought bananas.

Just like a pill.
This is like, Delirium, Part 3 or something. I thought I was feeling much better yesterday evening (after Tri's visit) that I thought, okay, probably I could make it for Friday's (today's) play, if not, give them a bit of support, and then probably make it for Design History in the evening. But the virus, apparently, is evil.
Every night, i'd wake up with a raging fever. It's so bad, I keep hearing voices in my head (perculiarly, they sound like Jack Sparrow's). Now, don't get me started on the muscle cramps. I practically feel like tearing off my limbs and burning my joints, it's ridiculous. And the worst thing is, everytime I get geared up to eat something I like, i'd get nauseous (I almost threw up Tri's chicken soup, it wasn't a pretty sight). This is simply inhumane torture (aah, don't judge).
Putri, you really are a piece of work. I owe you so much for yesterday, and please, leave me to my misery, the last thing I wanna' do is pass the virus to you and the rest. Thank you.
And of course, I feel really bad for not being able to perform (even once) for the open house thing. Ilham, thanks so much for replacing me. God knows how it'll be if I did perform; i'd probably sneeze out a handful of snot at Amalina or something in the middle of the scene and everyone'll laugh (though it wouldn't be that bad cos' it's a comedy).
I shudder to think how much work i've missed out. So let's not even go there.
Now, if my temperature goes up beyond 39 degrees again, i'll have to take another platelet test. Like I need another jab mark (plus the elbow cramps that follow). I hope i'll be fine by Monday.
Heck, no pain no gain I guess.
p.s. I had to do a spellcheck like thrice to see if everything made sense.

Ill will.
Ah, I hate being sick.
Back on Tuesday, I thought I was feeling a bit nauseous and clammy, but I just shrugged it off, thinking it was probably the doing of those nasty migraine-causing glasses. Well, turns out I really was sick. Obviously, I had to miss school on Wednesday. In addition to that, the last rehearsal for the open house skit, not to mention the first play today (which would have started about an hour ago, by the way). I don't know whether i'll feel better enough by tomorrow to do the 2nd performance (I hope I will). Sorry guys.
Yesterday was such a pain. Irritably, I had to wait in line for hours at the clinic, and the doctor had to take a blood test to see whether it's dengue fever thats doing all of this (as Adam is currently recovering from it and he might have passed it on). Thank god my platelet count is normal, and it was probably just a viral form of flu (sickening, nonetheless). You'll be happy to hear (or not) that I am feeling slightly better now, and I hope I can come to school tomorrow. I've missed so much already.
For those at school, hope you guys won't mind updating me on anything new.
Aah, pills.

Delve in, the irony of it all.
I can't put up with this pretence of optimism, so I will no longer do so. As much as I love cheesy metaphors, there will be none in this entry, cos' I threw away the fancy mask. Oops, I guess I lied.
The first week of 09' was nothing like the one in 08'. Of course, it's just so easy to put the blame on schoolwork, but I can't deny how some aspects of being in school make me feel more - secure. Friends and assignments and other kinds of pressure keep me occupied, and makes me have less mindroom to think of things that shouldn't be thought of.
I had a nice chat with my mentor Subrina the other day, and it shamed me how vulnerable I got in front of her (there is just no room to think of dirty thoughts, so don't). I don't know what mum told her but I can only give her (Subrina) so much respect for the advice that she gave me. Whatever bad things i've said about her in the past, I truly, truly regret. For in a world like this, it is difficult to find someone who does not judge unfairly, someone who does not see the world in only good and evil, and someone who can empathise sincerely. Heck, she might be a bit uptight, but for her I shall have the highest respect. Now, on that note...
School is fine. Oh yeah, I had a lot of fun and laughs during Herman's Digital Rendering class just now. Kai Min is the i'll-destroy-caucasian-men-pictures-with-carrots-in-photoshop man.
Drama, albeit tiring, has been fun. We have open house performances coming up, and the play is just hysterical. If you want to see me make a complete idiot of myself in front of hundreds of people because you have some personal grudge against me, then watch the play. Thanks again to the drama mama's for making me laugh till my stomach hurts (it's been awhile).
Now to end off this totally well organized and unmetaphoric entry with something i'd think sounds wise and showy off.
A good acqaintance of mine once brought up the topic of empathy (whether directly or indirectly). It is easy to dwell within one's own bigoted thoughts, but one can only base their opinions upon so much, what with all the superficiality going on in the world. A lesson i'd like to learn from.
Never judge if you don't fully understand.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot.
Seconds pass.
Leaves fall.
A holy mass.
A lonely hall.
The winds stood still,
As dusk began.
The shades of crimson,
Turned dark cyan.
A sombre face,
In the midst of an unknowing crowd.
He looks to the heavens,
Whilst saying aloud:
Dear god above, have faith in me,
And all of us, we're meant to see.
The mistakes that we made, the tears that we've shared,
The words that we said, the words that were sweared.
All of the things, that we've come to know,
They play back in our minds, like some reel-less show,
And we look at it all, with nothing but disdain.
For we're the only ones, that can ease all our pain.
Pain.
The blood drips, it falls to the ground.
Across the surface it seeps, silently, no sound.
But all of a sudden, the earth trembles slight ,
For a lone green sprout, peeks into the night.
With a leaf edged in red.
The face looks down.
The crowds stand still.
No sound at all.
For God has said.
Happy 2009 everyone.
