Muse.

Oh, I forgot I had a blog. Woe is me.

My life has been a little bit more organized since the last time you've heard. 70% of the Wan pie chart is taken over by school and drama (don't ask about the rest). It's kinda assuring to know that in three weeks, we'll be free of school again. Yup, term 2 is tad bit short. Better get started on those assignments (especially when it's submission the very next day). Annual Production 2009 has been postponed due to the ongoing H1N1 pandemic. Rehearsals are still going on though, at least we have more time to hone our skills *ooo*.

Talk about honing. I feel like i've wasted 1 year of my life trying to change into a better person. Of course, truly, I don't, everythings just like moss on a rocky cliff, but it's kinda sad whenever your good intentions are taken advantaged of. Sighs about that.

Plagued I am indeed. Design does things to you. All this, and I haven't even been in the industry yet. I think i'll heed my aunt's dire warnings. Maybe I should just quit and start fresh, and become an accountant or a doctor. Yes, I know. No, never an attorney, Putri.

Well, I should turn in now, i'm so lethargic. The bug in me is persistent. I hope I can feel better enough for tomorrows rehearsals (I had to miss school today by the way). Can't wait for Sunday. I need to find me that inspiration. Somewhere, in my ocean of a head.

p.s. happy 9th birthday to Adam.

Wings and things.

Wow, what a difference a day makes. I as a person, have been quite snail-like these past couple of days, I mean literally. I even played truant yesterday, true true, it's terrible.

2 weeks into the fifth month of the year, and our workload is steadily piling up like sand in an hourglass. Just today, I finally got some development done for the Asmara Lifestyle logo (anyone wants spa vouchers? you know who to flirt with). Studio Project was a blast. I had so much fun, exploring all of my concepts and solutions for the brilliantly creative 'Poster for a Cause' assignment. Oh my God, I am in love with the assignment, it's simply divine.

After school, Amalina and I rushed (or should I say cabbed) towards the House of Jewels building way down on Horne Road to audition for whispers whispers. Had a fun time. Hope we all get parts and get famous and get rich quick. Then I can finally afford that painting (this sick abstract guitar painting in oil, it's massive, and it's kaching kaching).

Sighs, I should start work now. Keep your wings out people.

Code.

Disclaimer: Don't bother reading if you're dumb, straight up.

Okay, so today went by in a flash. It wasn't as difficult as I thought, dealing with so and so. Sighs. It's great when things like schoolwork and people get to you; all talk of sad simplistic notions and the usual soul-less design concepts, they all seem so frivolous to some, although most people are just too mundanely self-absorbed in their own thoughts to acknowledge so. Of course, just call something incomprehensible stupid or weird, it's too easy, I don't blame them. Oh listen to me rant.

Studio Project lecturer Miss Ong was one tough nut to crack. Give me more, more, more. I am a little puzzled with her design methodology, it's too long winded, even by my standards. We both are apparently two very different people. Too generic? Me? Laughs, you have no idea how 'simple' I can be, Miss. Nice woman, quite brilliant. Heck, who am I, the naive design sophomore, to judge a wizened artist? Haha, where's Subrina when you need her? Tsks. Can't wait to be at loggerheads with her in the near future; though, I have a new plan.

And God, how I love words. Even when I can't hear or understand them, they unconsciously affect me. When you talk, I know. I always know, there's nothing to hide. Heck, it is fun to see people blissfully unaware of my awareness of a said something, but can they at least try to do a better job of concealing? Say discreetness, that can be improved. I read facial expressions well. Your body is a book to me. Definitely. Sorry that I know too much, but live with it. Professor X, step aside.

And finally, to those that care, I am not insane. Depends. If you call someone unafraid of expressing himself intellectually in a profound way weird, then curtain falls, you win. I am a nutcase. But take heart in what you find right and what you find wrong. Place yourself in my tangled shoes. And question yourself. Have I ever been wrong when it is permitted to be? You know what I mean.

Some Japanese food for thought. Hmm, tangy. Goodnight, smart people.

Sophomore.

The first week of the new semester was a blast, as compared to the last one. Preparations for Club Crawl 2009 were awesomely fun and tiring, as usual. School-wise, it's been pretty much subdued (partly because I only attended 2 days of it). Let's just say, I think I'm ready for what the new term has to offer (or throw at) us.

I am very displeased with the current situation of the 'Two Levels' of Design (notice how I appropriately NOT used the term 'School'). It is getting very claustrophobic now that they've added dividers to most of our rooms to incorporate the sudden influx of SDN freshmen. Though I don't know why I am complaining when children in Nairobi study in noticeably worse conditions (here comes that punch again).

The new modules were so so. We got new ones that seem nice, though I was not present for the most of them. Maybe I should analyze everything when I've a chance to actually attend a full week of school, sans interruptions (next week I suppose).

Not saying that preparing for Club Crawl was an interruption. It was probably one of the most fun times we've had in school, as Stage Arters. Everything from the set-up of the booth, to the rehearsals for our performance (which went on weeks prior to club crawl I might add), was painstakingly well thought out. Though it was rough that we got an invisible trophy, we did manage to recruit a lot of people, so, congratulations to everyone involved. Bring on the juniors.

And finally, I know I have been such a lazy donkey kong blogger the past few weeks, but I will try my best not to be that lazy donkey kong, and start replying to your precious tags, Putri.

Journey to success.

After weeks upon weeks of practice, practice and more practice (ee so cliche), I can say with utmost Rafa-ish pride that the end result (Thursday's & Friday's SBM & SHS Orientation SA performances respectively) turned out, pretty good. A. Men.

The past 2 or 3 so weeks have been dope (tiring dope, work and badminton matches with Maxxie aside). Rehearsals were tiring, albeit, we did have a lot of fun. This past week, even more so. The fatigue was just killer. Groans. However, the adrenaline pumping through your veins, knowing that in a few days/hours you'll get to perform what you've been practicing hard for, it's just...priceless. (Mastercard moment everybody).

And then came Thursday.

It was divine. Performing in front of close to a thousand people. Probably an opportunity that'll be very hard to come by now that it's gone. Sniffs. Damn, there's no need for tissues, woosies.

All of my co-actors, they did amazingly well. Kudos, kudos. SHS Orientation on Friday was all the more better; it was a full auditorium. But we managed to pull it off. Hearing the audience laugh at your lines, it's just so pleasing, to the soul. Sniffs. Aaaaaaah. They all better join Drama if not they should all die. I'll make sure.

Ok, now back to a different reality. New term begins next week, and I am quite perky, by pre-term period standards. We still have a lot of work to do (drama people), Club Crawl 09', you shall be conquered (what was that). It's gonna be another busy week, though I predict it will actually be not as bad as we think. All of you freshen up for school; come on, not everyone in the world can afford something like this, so be grateful, you idiots (don't you feel like punching me now?). Of course you do. Hehe I am such a bitch.

So, in the words of a very, very smart, philosophical and selfless sage: I am the dragon slayer, and thus I shall slay the dragon. (Or whatever that self-proclaimed douchebag Coach from Survivor Tocantins said).

Cheerios.

Results may vary.

It's been great knowing you, Maxxie. HAHAHA. Anyway...

The first thing I saw when I arose from bed (or should I say sofa) this morning were my results for Year 1. The text message came at the right moment; Putri called shortly thereafter to scream her bed head off at me, the siren. She did mighty fine, though I wish I could have said the same for me.

Well, I improved for most of the modules (yay) but my overall grade-point average (GPA) took a slight dip (boo). Well, it was expected, seeing to the lack of theory modules for semester 2 to act as my saving grace. Ngehhh, all in all, I am quite relieved that it was only a minor dip (and not a major 1.0 catastrophe that was last night's nightmare), especially with all the bull going on during semester 2. Tough break I guess.

So finally, we can get this thing off of our chests. Now, i'm hungry. After breakfast it's off to Nyai's for today. The kids are all staying there this week (seeing as it is the March holidays), so you bet it's gonna be bedlam. Well, to the rest of you, all the best for the results, до свидания!

Saturday, February 14
Clear skies.

Well, it's about time. Everyone, bid adieu to Year 1. Though the journey we took was long and hard (I know what you're thinking of), to me, everything paid off. And now, let us revel in our freedom.

VACATION SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!!!

Okay, lame and unconvincingly altruistic intro aside, yesterday was quite a subdued blast. I woke up quite early (by this week's standard) and got my butt all the way down to school for what felt like the millionth time. So I wasn't aware of the Colour Studies deadline change, and I was in school too early (how illegal). Thank god I had Macy with me to keep me company. After handing in my CD to Subrina it was time for that Design History test. It wasn't that bad actually, and before I knew it, we were free.

Now I can think of a thousand and one metaphors to describe that feeling of relief I had just now but i'll just say this: I'm so relieved.

Today is gonna' be quite an eventful day. Aunt Rita is having a soiree at her place, and the kid's are going to fly their kites (it's some kite flying event of sorts). Then, in the evening I gotta' head to Dad's place; where i'd be staying for the next few days. I did bunk out at his apartment for awhile (after visiting gramp's one week after Lunar New Year) and, then, I was thinking how great it would be if I could stay there longer. But now, after all the projects and shiznit and whatsorts are done and over with, I finally can.

Heck, i'm so loving this. Putri and Sam, you keep me on that waiting list of yours. Chicken breast, I am so going to make great lasagna out of you this time, for sure. Hairdresser, reserve a tablecloth-thingy-with-a-hole-for-the-head thingy for when I need your services. Polyfriends, you owe me some movie time and a cycling-blading-skating adventure. And it's been awhile since i've seen the drama people. You guy's don't forget to remember me too.

Because now, Wantanabe is as free as a dove.

Cheers for the next 2 months you're away from neurotic me!

p.s. Survivor was great, but what did you expect, a full in depth analytical review of the first episode? Now why would I do that?

All in 7 days work.

Everybody sing this song, doo-dah, doo-dah.

Everybody sing this song, OH, doo-dah-day.

WHOO.

The holidays are around the corner and I am in a very uplifting mood (but don't just call me Pierrot yet). These few days have been nothing short of heck for all of us Visual Commers. I tell you, I bet i've lost more money investing in printing out multiple posters and cabfare than Microsoft investing in Seinfield for their lame adwork. And not to mention lack of sleep.

Today was rather brisk. After waking up to Lirong's call, I made a quick dash for shower, then to BenColor Printing Co. (it's a printing shop at Bencoolen St.) to print the last of the major assignments, Herman's movie poster. I didn't quite like the outcome (bored) but at least everything was done. And of course, with every trip to the printing shop comes the printing of another YOLO poster, but Wan's bank account, don't fret, because this is gonna' be the last of them all (I can now make a rather lousy non-insulative bedsheet out of the rest of the YOLO rejects).

After a brief period at school (compiling the stuff needed for Herman's submission, oggling at other posters) I went out with my poly gangfriends to the land of the woods for brunch. So it was my second time at Causeway Point (don't ask me why it's called that, the developers must've had their bearings wrong or something) and the food was quite good. Had a lot of good laughs with them, talking bout whatever under the sun. It was a much needed rest.

I ciaoed from Yishun Interchange on number 39 for the third time in my life. Wow, though it only takes fourty or so minutes to reach Aunt Sophia's place the time spent in one feels like hours; it's that bad when you feel oh so narcoleptic on a nauseating bus ride, ah.

Tomorrow is Friday, the official last day of school. Though school has been tiresome and money has been scarce (in part of my tardiness and lack of z's) I feel quite a nice sense of satisfaction, now that everything is coming to an end. Not to mention, the stress tightened our bonds as classmates (just look at the Faiz-KM couple) and brought out the best and worst in some of us.

Just one more day (Design History test tomorrow), then we can (takes cue from Dass the man) CHILLLLLLL BROOOS!

Time bomb.

The past few days went by in a whizz of printing shops, art friends (and enemies), and gay humor.

It is officially the week of reckoning. I think I remembered something like this happening about 5 months ago, the last week of Semester 1. How fast time flies, don't you agree? Now, the VCer's are at it again. But this time, it's on a much bigger scale. It's a whole new ball game for us. May the Gods bless us with magical patience powder, amen.

Now, i've been in a really subjective mood these past couple of days. Whatever feels right does and whatever seems nasty reeks. That sentence was not meant to be understood by anyone so don't tryta' guess (everything I say, really). As of now I notice that our circle of friends is getting bigger and better. I really am new to this kind of peer bonding, so it feels a bit overwhelming for me to really act part of such a group, if anyone gets what I mean. But I can't deny that it's fun.

Let's sidetrack a bit here. I really am sorry that i've broken so many promises, and have irked so many people the past few days. It's difficult for me to explain to different people why certain things happened the way they did, so I really feel at a lost for words whenever I try to redeem myself when faced with their scorn. But to those who understand, much respectful thanks.

I don't think I further need to elaborate on the current state of my school work as it is really quite obvious.

Okay, here's what's done:

Subrina's YOLO poster. We spent the whole Sunday evening printing our stuff at SunSHINE plaza (thanks) and today was the deadline. A great relief.

Now wait a minute, I think that's all that's completed (gasp!).

Okay, what else about school. I feel that the assignments this term have gotten much more interesting (think last Thursday's Botanical Garden's trip) but obviously they come with scary deadlines. Water and poster colour paintings are fun to do but I really hate cleaning up the mess they create. Thank god mum is not at home to see the 'masterpiece' i've done on her parquette.

I also feel atrociously lazy when it comes to revising theory stuff (what have I become), it's terrible. We have an Ergonomics test tomorrow and don't forget that final Design History exam next week. Well, let's take it week by week.

It's getting crazier by the minute.

Okay, I should stop typing now, lest I get carried away and write stuff thats too weird for other people's comprehension. Now to get started on that Egonomics revision.

Friends, all the best for the 'last week of hell'.

Coo-ld.

I shouldn't have written that first sentence in my last post. Because I had to eat it.

This virus is really killing me. I don't know what is going on, but it ain't pretty.

I really cannot afford to miss school again, not even for one day. I truly apologize if anyone of my friends had caught the virus, but if you did, please go to a doctor and at least get some prescriptions before it gets worse.

Other than that, school has been tiringly fun. Staying back with Kai and Haz after school to do the Design History project is awesomely-idiotically fun (and also why I don't want to miss school this coming Friday). Okay, let's get to work. Now, the best way to tackle these assignments is to do so with a pinch of urgency and a complete satchetful of patience (?). It really is difficult to attain that level of discipline, especially in relation to completing assignments. I really respect those who are able to do so, and I really hope I will be able to do the same.

I just came back from drama by the way, it was wickedly funny, as usual. I hope I didn't pass anything on to Vicki and Hanisah; arm yourselves guys, with jugfuls of vitamin C (or ascorbic acid, something I learnt from taking F&N classes).

I really hope you feel okay, friend.

I also hope that I feel better by tomorrow morning. There's a swimming pool where i'm sitting at right now, if you know what I mean. I should stop typing now.

Get well soon, Singapore.

Sunny side up.

So, it is safe to say that nothing worst came out from the nasty bout of flu that I had just experienced. Heck yeah, I can taste food again. Sweet, sweet. Now, I still need a few more days to let my runny nose clear up though; it has been a total gorefest (I think i've entertained too many people with my 'I have a hard time keeping the mucus off my face when i'm in the bus' stories, right Haz?).

School has been, ok-go so-so (I know). Monday and Tuesday went by in a daze. Urgh, I swear, evening classes are just plain nasty. It's not because of the lecturers or anything (well, maybe it is), but if no one is going to keep me awake throughout classes like Ergonomics or I daresay Design History, I am gonna' create a swimming pool wherever I sit. And that is just plain sticky.

Monday was, hehh, Tuesday was, ngehh.

We had a fun time doing the D. History project yesterday evening though, thanks to slutty sirens and psycho mermaids (and foreign workers). And weird computer sounds.

Today, we had Studio Project in the morning and Colour Studies a.ka. 'the most useful module in the world' in the evening. I can gladly affirm that my idea for S.Proj. is finally coming through; I hate the fact that I was practically going nowhere with the idea before, but thank god for that stroke of brilliance just now; I finally know roughly what my poster will look like (woow).

We (well those like me) had to rush here and there to get the C.Stds. project done. In the end I didn't get to present, but at least its done. So, phew.

I met Ina on the bus looking shagged out just now. I bet Kai probably knows how she's like already (lol). I felt kind of bad that her English grade was still same old, though I know she'll want to keep on trying her best. Theres always time to improve, crazy friend.

Got home to some sleep hours ago. The new season of American Idol was great. It amazes me how some people just love making a fool out of themselves. I really respect them a lot, somewhat (i'll respect a donkey too, so, yeah). I think the new judge is cool, and hot (well I like older women). She probably is my first celebrity crush of the year. Haha, kudos to that.

Okay, as you can tell, i'm probably high on something right now (probably got it from Ina), so, i'll probably get myself some juice to quench my sanity. I just bought bananas.

Delve in, the irony of it all.

I can't put up with this pretence of optimism, so I will no longer do so. As much as I love cheesy metaphors, there will be none in this entry, cos' I threw away the fancy mask. Oops, I guess I lied.

The first week of 09' was nothing like the one in 08'. Of course, it's just so easy to put the blame on schoolwork, but I can't deny how some aspects of being in school make me feel more - secure. Friends and assignments and other kinds of pressure keep me occupied, and makes me have less mindroom to think of things that shouldn't be thought of.

I had a nice chat with my mentor Subrina the other day, and it shamed me how vulnerable I got in front of her (there is just no room to think of dirty thoughts, so don't). I don't know what mum told her but I can only give her (Subrina) so much respect for the advice that she gave me. Whatever bad things i've said about her in the past, I truly, truly regret. For in a world like this, it is difficult to find someone who does not judge unfairly, someone who does not see the world in only good and evil, and someone who can empathise sincerely. Heck, she might be a bit uptight, but for her I shall have the highest respect. Now, on that note...

School is fine. Oh yeah, I had a lot of fun and laughs during Herman's Digital Rendering class just now. Kai Min is the i'll-destroy-caucasian-men-pictures-with-carrots-in-photoshop man.

Drama, albeit tiring, has been fun. We have open house performances coming up, and the play is just hysterical. If you want to see me make a complete idiot of myself in front of hundreds of people because you have some personal grudge against me, then watch the play. Thanks again to the drama mama's for making me laugh till my stomach hurts (it's been awhile).

Now to end off this totally well organized and unmetaphoric entry with something i'd think sounds wise and showy off.

A good acqaintance of mine once brought up the topic of empathy (whether directly or indirectly). It is easy to dwell within one's own bigoted thoughts, but one can only base their opinions upon so much, what with all the superficiality going on in the world. A lesson i'd like to learn from.

Never judge if you don't fully understand.

Clockstopper.

If the world stood still for just once in my life, i'd take that opportunity and sleep, forever.

The start of the new term was rather subdued, though I know i'm going to bite my words. Well, everyone knows that the first week of school is just 'filler' time for the arrival of what i'd like to call an 'assignment avalanche' in the upcoming weeks. Shivers.

I have come to accept that my body clock will never ever return to normal, anytime soon. That said, this actually is beneficial for me, the routine of sleeping at 6 p.m. and waking up at midnight everyday; I get to do most of my work while I catch up on late-night television and supper, and then when everything's done I can just go ahead and prepare for school at around 5. Though I do get a little sleepy during school (especially for lessons in the late evening).

So far, there are no signs of any crazy 120 feet-esqe styled assignments. Joon Kiat was bearable, and so was Chevady and Herman. Today, i'm supposed to come to school for Subrina's lesson (it's a half day) and show her what I did with my sketchbook but I didn't (lol). I guess I regret taking that 'short 5 minute nap' before school. Sigh.

Well, that is it. Putri and Aman are coming over later so I better get ready. And oh yeah, today is the last day of the year.

Sunday, December 14
In repair.

After weeks and weeks of pressure, tension, earthquakes and tsunamis, the holidays are finally here. I am god dang relieved that I was able to complete most of my final deadlined assignments during the last week of term. Now, with school off the list of things that makes my life miserable I can finally get some shut eye (haha).

Last Friday went by in a blur. I remembered telling myself its not just worth sacrificing my sanity (or what's left of it) for better grades, so in the end I chose not to redo the final abstract eye painting. Though I can tell you that I regret not a single bit of it; I managed to catch about 2 hours plus time of sleep and it really showed when I came to school Friday morning. Well, basically all of us were in high spirits, awaiting the so-near-yet-so-far 2 week Christmas break.

We had a short field trip to the Singapore Arts Museum (SAM) during Subrina's lesson. I was glad that most of us were noticeably happier. There were a lot of cool Japanese-y stuff being put up for display, so it was a really interesting exhibit.

At 3pm we had our Design History test (we were back in school by 2 plus). I didn't even bother to properly revise for it (as it was an open-booked test) though I am not exactly confident I was able to bullcrap my way through all of it.

It was like the release of all the caged up butterflies from my stomach. When that final lesson was over and done with, I practically thanked god and angel Megan out loud for seeing me through all of this. It definitely was tough, especially with other obstacles blocking my path towards a succesful term completion (yes, that is the way I see things).

Now, I am truly, truly sorry to whoever I've let down in the quest of conquering all of these vultures; I really had no time for CCA and family and friends, but I will try to make up all for all of the lost time during the holidays.

I can't wait for this Friday; im finally going to see Dad once again, and Sobo and Grandpa, so yeah, thats all that im looking forward to this week.

Plus all of the food im gonna' get to cook again.

p.s. and yes, i've updated my blog skin, and no, I am not a 'yellow yellow dirty fellow'.

Friday, December 12
Tangled.

My life is in shambles right now. There are things happening to me that I do not want to talk about so just pretend everything is alright and I won't have to lie.

I just wasted 5 hours of my life (during which I could've seen the completion of Mr Ng's final assignment as well as that pop-up card) waiting for my mom to come home from some meeting. Thankfully I had something to keep me occupied; my pencils and sketchbook. One of the more memorable daydreams I had was the thought of myself lying on a pillow in the middle of a bridge, with this violinist entertaining me with some melodramatic tune. It made me think quite far, perplexing as it sounds.

Dad accompanied me while I was sketching the pillows. It has been more than a month since I last heard his voice, and well, just cut out all of the stuff that has been happening lately and all that, and I can tell you that I really miss him. I really had no time in my life to just give him a simple call, to ask how he's been, whats been going on on. Imagine what it might have sounded like to him, "I couldn't reply to your messages these few days cos' I didn't pay my bill." Oh God. I also felt kinda' guilty when I asked him how he was, hearing him reply "finally you asked" in a mock-casual sorta' laugh. He has been very patient with life too as of late, what with financial concerns (to say the least) as well as that recent knee operation to recover from (I was aghast after finding out he had to even absent himself for 3 whole weeks just to attend physiotherapy sessions), I really wish his walk will get back to normal soon.

He understands why I have been so busy lately, and that is what hurts me the most though.

Right now everything and everything about school is making me feel uncomfortable. I have not slept in 48hours, but I plan to do so soon. I am just going to have to tell Mr. Ng what needs to be told. After Friday, trust me, I will be a much happier man, in more ways than one. I need time to get myself in check.

There are worse things in life.

p.s. when I yawn because im sleepy I tend to tear a lot, so its not me crying, period.

Wet.

As of today, a huge burden has been lifted off my chest (or hands). I would have never imagined being able to complete such a daunting and tedious (did I say daunting?) task but in the end we all pulled through.

Talk about morning rush. It was like some amazing race challenge but instead of Phil waiting for us at the pit stop, there was Joon Kiat. Let's just stop right there. Assessment was a killer for our nerves; most of us were so neurotically perky about everything that it was quite reality tv-worthy.

It was frustating as hell when JK had to question the integrity of my final assignment. What outright disrespect for all the sweat and tears I had put into this thing, you had no idea how demoralizing it was for me to have to prove that everything was genuine. Though I am sick to the core at the prospect of how he would grade me I still am relieved that I can just look back on this.

Herman's lesson was relaxed as usual. Jokes and laughter aside, it was definitely not a total waste of time as I did managed to play around with colour schemes (of the iPod skin design assignment) and stuff like that. After a short but hectic day, we were all relieved to go home.

Wow. The evening thunderstorm really summed up how my emotions have been the past couple of weeks. Going home with a 4 feet long banner was definitely a challenge. In the end, my assignment got wet, and I had to put Putri to work again with her miracle blowdryer of wonders.

Sighs. I just hope that like the rain, something good comes out from all of this.

Sitting duck.

This is an affirmation/declaration:

I am a lazy arse. My room is like a pigsty. My feet smells like prawns. I still need to complete 6 major assignments, all due next week. Yet I still have enough time to laze around with cousin and co. and videochat about dirty things people don't want to talk about.

Carrying on. So, work (I mean school) has been, umm, let me find a suitable adjective...woweepalooza. There are a couple of valuable life lessons i've learnt the past week.

Never ever decide to shift houses the day before we have Joon Kiat's lesson. I think my mom is getting tired of me walking into her home in the middle of the night. I came extremely late for Tuesday's drawing class (by extremely late I mean about 10 minutes late) and got issued a warning letter threatening of my gruesome execution if I don't change my ways. Though bless Joon Kiat for being so horrifyingly understanding.

Another valuable life lesson. Learn to face your demons before leaving the house. If you can't, just do your best. I've had a couple of rough pitfalls in my life (who hasn't) and I've learnt that maintaining a positive front (at the needed times) helps out a lot, both to yourself as well as the people around you. If there are things that do not need to be publicized then try not to be an open book. Have more select channels for alleviating stress, whether it is that helpful friend or that underused journal. I think I still need help in this department, though much thanks for those who care.

Then, there is the most memorable of all the lessons. Wear gloves while using the NT cutter (it's a penknife). Eunice, I feel your pain (and I saw your blood). A design student must protect their hands with all the love and care in the world, am I right or am I right? Haha, get well soon, Eunice's index finger.

Shucks, there goes my Saturday. Now I think I'll stop pretending to be like mom's therapist and start on those bloody contour hands. 30 more to go!

p.s. guess what the evil twins bought for me yesterday. An iPod dock! Just like the one I got them for their birthdays, but with a remote instead! Haha, can't wait for Christmas, I'll be visiting Sobo and Grandpa during the December break. The twins are just killing me. While their off having a second Thanksgiving shopping spree holiday (their in Seattle now, urgh), here I am, dying for just two weeks of break.

I'll just be thankful i'm not going to get bombs dropped on me anytime soon *touches wooden desk*.

Uncontourable.

Let's take a break from these crappy emo posts. Here's what happened the past week...

I came to school extra early the first few days, and had high hopes for accomplishing the various assignments on time. So, I remembered, thinking to myself back then, heck, how bad could this week go?

So okay, I had to sacrifice a few things in order for me to keep my priorities right. Drama, family, relaxation and sleep, to say the least. Though how much I miss the drama mama's and papa's and my sexy cousins at home, I still managed to do well.

Then came the assignments. First, there was the Studio Project poster deadline on Friday. Well in the end everything went out rather smoothly i'd have to say. We trudged our way down towards Dhoby Gaut Thursday evening for printing, and did the presentation on Friday, that's the end of that (wow, rather vague). Everyone did a good job, so kudos. A particularly huge portion of that kudos goes to Kai Min, who did a whole lotta stuff for all of us. I for one understand how tough it must've been. You did exceptionally well bro.

Okay what else. Colour studies. Thank goodness for Ms Lee. My concept for her Biennale assignment was uber complicated (who do I blame but myself) so heaven, thank you so much, she extended the deadline. I feel so guilty, haha.

Were moving a bit backwords here, if you've noticed, hehe.

Well, I feel a little guilty for Herman (Lirong, you are not alone). Hmmm. Did nothing much in particular during his classes other than playing around with Illustrator effects. I swear, i'm gonna get all those vectors done ASAP. Deadline, next week.

So, the other assignments were as usual, so-so...but wait. I think saved the best for last.

Now, there is this tiny little problem of the hands. How many hands? Well, one hundred and twenty to say the least. Sighs. In brief, we all have to draw out the animation of a moving hand. To be composed of a minimum hundred and twenty hands, depicting movement. All done in A3, all done in contour. He wants to see at least fifty this coming Tuesday. Joon Kiat is killing us slowly, softly, with his soft, flicking hand gestures.

I thought it'd be manageable but damn, how wrong was I. I don't know how many times i've had to redo this assignment. It is sickening, and it is making me puke. Woweepalooza. I hate my hand now, even though how much my grandmother had told me in the past to be thankful that I had one.

Heck, I don't want to talk about assignments anymore.

God, make me invincible.

We have to move it, move it.

Move our butts, that is.

So finally, the week comes to a close. Darn right it has been stressful. I don't know how many times i've said "don't worry you can do it" to my friends but heck I don't want to end up sounding like an even more faker Adam Khoo. I'm done with being nice anyways, muhuahua.

Our assignments are piling up. So what, people might think, they have assignments too, they have tests to study for, they have projects and ICA's and other what nots, in addition. But i'd like to make their 'so whats' sound a little less effective and proud: So what, NOT, that our assignments form the bulk percentage of our end results? We are doing our 'exams' every single week. And our exams take up aeons of our time. VC people, back me up here. It's not just cutting paper and glueing them up on fancy mounting boards, to say the least.

In the end, it's not the matter of who has the most work to do, but how well we can manage. I prayed for better time management this year, and I think I got it, or part of it to be frank. Procrastination is still in my blood (i don't know why I laughed at that). Can I sigh now? Sigh. So, that's the end of this week's column, I hope to see you again next week or never.

Someone, gladly throw a rock at me.

p.s. All of you have to, if not must watch Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, out in theatres now. After a stressful day at school, it's heaven, being able to laugh like theres no tomorrow (all throughout the movie, yes, its that funny). Thanks again Ina for the night out, I'll keep tabs on our 'who-gets-to-pay-for-the-tickets' scoreboard!

Petered out.

As usual, I want to blog about every single thing that happened in my life yet lazy Susan keeps pulling me away. Sighs.

Today, I learnt that 'ergonomics' is a brand new synonym for 'ultimate boredom'. Talk about yawns. I practically slept throughout the entire lecture, and from what ive heard so did three-quarters of the class. Sighs. I really hate it when this happens. Virus analysis: D.S.S: Design Student Syndrome. Sighs. The symptoms: You sleep after 2 a.m. every night. Check. You can't sleep anytime before 2 a.m. every night. Check. You sigh a lot. Check. You feel like sleeping for long periods of time during classes. Check. You cringe in fear when you hear the word 'Subrina'. Checkmate.

(If there are more symptoms do alert me, Dr. Tan, ASAP). To keep it short and sweet, I am tired. T-I-R-D'. Kai, tell me a joke about Joon Kiat, the one that killed me just now.

Oh yawns, save me my queen. I know you all are tired too, I hear your sighs, heck, I even dream about sighing. Sighs. Just keep swimming...
